Spring Professional is selecting a Training & HR Officer (M/F) for a major industrial company based in Beja district. His/ her mission will be Administrate and facilitate all training required by the Manufacturing & Supply Chain, Portugal with the goal of developing a higly competent workforce to meet the business need. Provide consistent functional excellence in facilitating the achievement of company’s business goals and HR strategy through HR advice and service delivery to all managers and employees.


  • With site safety, ensure that training is managed and maintained in line with the company Model procedure
  • Coordinate training activities across the site
  • Measure and report compliance to training plans and ensure every employee has a training plan
  • Liaise with QA, Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) and improvement teams to ensure training material is relevant and current
  • Liaise with external training providers where required
  • Advise payroll of any changes in pay/wages of employees and monitor implementation
  • Review and keep up to date local company HR procedures and policies to ensure consistency at both local level and compliance with global requirements
  • Review and keep up to date employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance
  • Support local recruitment process in line with company wide process (currently using SuccessFactors)
  • Act as interface with Union representatives and manage update/changes to agreements
  • Constructively respond to planned and emerging industrial issues through advice and guidance to line managers
  • Engage with employees and managers to encourage and promote the use of HR self-service
  • Work with managers to analyse sick leave and provide reports


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken
  • At least 5 years good working knowledge of HR practices and local employment law
  • Good understanding of the vocational education and training accreditation requirements
  • Personnel management skills, including priority management, goal setting, communication (oral, written & presentation), short, medium & long term planning.
